We are currently seeking a Junior Category Planner to support our Procurement team and drive our company's growth. This role offers the chance to study for a CIPS qualification alongside gaining valuable industry experience.
As a Junior Category Planner, you will:
- Support the implementation of procurement strategies defined by the Head of Department (HOD).
- Forecast and manage stock orders to meet business demands.
- Assist in the implementation and optimisation of planning software.
- Support in contract lifecycle management, including drafting, negotiation, and execution.
- Help identify and implement best-value purchasing opportunities within assigned categories.
- Collaborate with suppliers to enhance the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of goods and services delivery.
- Support the tendering process, including document preparation, bid evaluation, and contract awards.
- Conduct regular supplier and contract reviews in line with strategic goals.
- Develop a strong understanding of core component categories, suppliers, and supply chains.
- Assist in indirect procurement projects and tenders.
Who we are looking for:
- Experienced in both direct and indirect procurement, with a background in supply chain or procurement (manufacturing experience is a plus).
- Have a proven track record of delivering projects within budget.
- A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders and suppliers at all levels.
- Analytical, with the ability to assess data, market trends, and risks.
- Detail-oriented, ensuring accuracy and compliance in contracts and audits.
- Adaptable, eager to learn, and ready to support changing priorities.
- Organised, able to prioritise effectively, and thrive under pressure.
- Skilled at building rapport and fostering strong relationships with stakeholders.
Qualifications
- CIPS Level 3 (desirable).
